Where I stayed

I was fortunate enough to stay on private property in Sunny Corner and I had direct entry to the tracks, It was a dream come true. The place I stayed was in a freezing cold shed with 20 other fanatic male riders. The night was made more bearable with the huge bonfire we had.

If you don't wish to camp out the night in freezing Sunny Corner, Bathurst and Lithgow offer many cheap accommodation options that will keep you warm and cosy throughout the night!

The Highlights of the Holiday

It was one of the best weekends of my life so far and I enjoyed every second of it!
What's not to love? Motorbikes, Good times and friends made it a memorable experience. I have to admit the riding was 1st class and no other location I have ridden on compares to what the Sunny Corner Trail Ride provides. The technical single trail and the wide - open fire roads offers an experience like no other.
However, my favourite part of the trip was ripping it up in this sand pit that I found. The Image shows how much fun I was having! :)

Tracks

The Sunny Corner trail ride is regarded by many as the pinnacle of off - road fun in NSW. Held once a year the trail ride attracts over 900 riders. I can now understand why it is such an exciting ride. The tracks/terrain are made up of:

- Hill Climbs: Probably some of the best hill climbs in Australia are on offer. Hills that would even scare Evil Kinevil are on offer and provide good laughs when your mate falls down time and time again.
- Open Fire Road: The highlight of the trail ride are the huge open spaces on offer to open the bike right up. Hit 5th gear and enjoy the wind in your face.
- Technical trail tracks: The Sunny Corner trail ride had some of the most advanced single - trail I have ever experience and is loads of fun.

What you need for the Sunny Corner Trail Ride

The Sunny Corner trail ride is only recommended for experienced trail riders only as the terrain is difficult and the tracks are fast. As it is a motorbike ride there are many items required to get you started. Luckily I have been to a few of these trail rides and I can create a comprehensive list of what is required.

What you need:

- A dirt bike: an enduro bike is recommended, however bike 4 - stroke motorcross bikes get the job done
- Safety gear: Safety gear is essential for any trail ride, and is required to be able to ride. Boots, pants, gloves, helmets and goggles are required.
- Petrol: Make sure you bring your own fuel as there is a lack of service stations in the area
- Parts/Maintenance gear: Make sure you bring spare parts incase something goes wrong.
- Food/Water: Ensure you have plenty of food to get you through the day.
- Camping gear: This is essential unless you're willing to sleep in your ute.
- Courage: The tracks claim even the most seasoned riders, so courage and confidence is must.
